In early October 2010, a new line-up of Simple Minds - Burchill, Kerr, Gaynor, Gillespie with new bassist Ged Grimes (ex-Danny Wilson and Deacon Blue) - completed four weeks at the Sphere Recording Studios in London during which four songs were recorded and mixed for a new compilation album to be called Greatest Hits + and for the new Simple Minds studio album.

20 de oct. de 2022 · Simple Minds’ current lineup also features vocalist and fellow founding member Jim Kerr, alongside bassist Ged Grimes, drummer Cherisse Osei, and vocalist Sarah Brown. The band’s new album, Direction of the Heart, is out tomorrow via BMG. Most of the album’s tracks were realized in Sicily, where both Kerr and Burchill live.
For the subsequent acoustic tour, Jim and Charlie were joined by bassist Ged Grimes, acoustic guitarist Gordy Goudie, new percussionist Cherisse Osei and long-term singer Sarah Brown. The lessons learnt making Simple Minds Acoustic were also put to excellent use on the group’s next studio album proper.
