Claude Henri de Rouvroy, graaf van Saint-Simon (Parijs, 17 oktober 1760 - aldaar, 19 mei 1825) was een hervormingsdenker ten tijde van de Franse Revolutie, die zijn hervormingsplannen baseerde op een positivistisch geloof in de wetenschap en was een voorvechter van een meritocratisch maatschappijmodel.. Saint-Simon staat bekend als een vroege socialist.
Claude-Henri de Rouvroy, Comte de Saint-Simon, nació el 17 de octubre de 1760, en París, Francia. Saint-Simon nació de una empobrecida familia aristocrática. El primo de su abuelo había sido el duque de Saint-Simon, famoso por sus memorias de la corte de Luis XIV. Henri afirmaba descender de Carlomagno.
Né en 1760, Claude-Henri de Rouvroy, comte de Saint-Simon, qui, à partir de 1815, signe le plus souvent ses ouvrages sous l'identité de « Henri Saint-Simon », est apparenté au célèbre mémorialiste du règne de Louis XIV, auquel on pense volontiers lorsque ce nom est prononcé. La confusion n'est pourtant guère de mise.

Henri de Saint Simon and Auguste Comte had a meeting in August 1817, and Simon afterward hired Comte to take Augustin Thierry’s position as his secretary. Saint-Simon was born into an aristocracy but considered himself a socialist utopian. Comte and Saint-Simon became close friends, and Saint-Simon encouraged Comte’s interest in economics.
