Hermann Maier ist ein ehemaliger österreichischer Skirennläufer aus Flachau. Er wurde zweimal Olympiasieger, dreimal Weltmeister und gewann viermal den Gesamtweltcup. Hinzu kommt der zehnmalige Gewinn einer Weltcup-Disziplinenwertung. Bei der Wahl zu Österreichs Sportler des Jahres wurde er viermal ausgezeichnet und erhielt zusätzlich zwei Ehrenpreise.
