From 1970 to 1973, Georgie Fame worked almost exclusively in a partnership with fellow musician Alan Price ... Annie Ross, on the album In Hoagland, which featured the music of the legendary Hoagy Carmichael. After Georgie met with Hoagy at his home in Palm Springs, California, a film based on the album was made by Scottish television.
The album ends with a Fame composition, "Hoagland", which is his 90 second tribute to Carmichael. Sadly, this was probably Carmichael's `final act on the stage' as he died, aged 82, the same year as this album was created, 1981, The album's serial number, perhaps in a little tribute, bears the serial number BELP 181!
