R. Rossellini nos ilumina dejando hablar con sosiego a un referente personal, moral y político: Salvador Allende. Sin repreguntas ni buscando el titular a toda costa (cómo ha cambiado la comunicación política), la versión de RR delante de las cámaras guarda silencio y deja explicarse al presidente.
Cinematográficamente es muy plano. Como entrevista es un testimonio valiosísimo que enfrenta a uno de los cineastas más importantes y a uno de los políticos más emblemáticos del siglo XX. El bueno de Allende se precipitó en ocasiones, aunque sus errores nunca justificarán su final.
