Isaac Watts ( Southampton, 17 de julio de 1674 – Abney Park, Stoke Newington, 25 de noviembre de 1748) fue un cristiano inglés autor de himnos, teólogo y lógico. Un escritor prolífico de populares himnos, parte de su trabajo fue la evangelización. Fue reconocido como el "Padre de la Himnología inglesa", acreditado con unos 750 himnos.

He was a prolific and popular hymn writer and is credited with some 750 hymns. His works include "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross", "Joy to the World", and "Our God, Our Help in Ages Past".

His collections of hymns include Hymns and Spiritual Songs (1707) and The Psalms of David Imitated in the Language of the New Testament (1719).
