As a midfielder, he played the final of the 1952 Olympics (which Hungary won) and the 1954 World Cup final (which was shockingly lost to West Germany). Bozsik furthermore played in the 1958 World Cup (1st round exit).

József Bozsik va ser un destacat futbolista hongarès dels anys 40 i 50. József Bozsik va néixer el 28 de novembre de 1925 a Kispest, avui un districte de Budapest. Va començar a practicar futbol a clubs de la seva localitat amb el seu amic i veí Ferenc Puskás. Amb 11 anys signà pel club Kispest AC (KAC) debutant al primer equip el 1943.
