John Paul Dunphy (August 22, 1914 – April 26, 1992) [1] was an American novelist and playwright. Dunphy was widely known as the partner of American author Truman Capote . Early life and dance career. Dunphy was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, [2] and was raised in a working-class neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
