She added a second heptathlon title at the 1992 Olympics, where she also won a long jump silver medal, and between 1985 and 1991 she won 12 consecutive heptathlon contests.
Considered by many to be the greatest female all-around athlete in history, Jackie Joyner-Kersee's achievements include three Olympic gold medals, four World Outdoor Championships gold medals, and the still-standing world record of 7,291 points in the women's heptathlon.

11 de jul. de 2023 · Joyner-Kersee earned the first of her seven global titles at the 1987 World Championships in Rome, winning the heptathlon with a still-standing championship record of 7128 – just 30 points shy of the world record at the time. Just three days later, she won the long jump title with a championship record of 7.36m.
