Johann Caspar Goethe (29 July 1710 – 25 May 1782) was a wealthy German jurist and royal councillor to the Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire. His son, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, is considered one of the greatest German poets and authors of all time.
Johann Caspar Goethe (* 29. Juli 1710 in Frankfurt am Main; † 25. Mai 1782 ebenda) war ein wohlhabender Jurist und Kaiserlicher Rat in Frankfurt am Main. Sein Sohn Johann Wolfgang gilt als einer der bedeutendsten deutschsprachigen Dichter und herausragende Persönlichkeit der Weltliteratur.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe nació el 28 de agosto del año 1749 en Frankfort del Main (Alemania), hijo de un oficial del gobierno alemán llamado Johann Caspar Goethe y de Katharina Elisabeth Textor. Tras residir en su niñez en su ciudad natal, Goethe se trasladó a Leipzig para estudiar Derecho.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe fue un dramaturgo, novelista, poeta, filósofo y naturalista alemán, principal representante del Clasicismo de Weimar. Ejerció una gran influencia sobre el Romanticismo, especialmente sobre el Círculo de Jena. Fue el principal miembro del movimiento Sturm und Drang.
