8 de may. de 2024 · Rush formed in 1968 in Toronto as the last of multiple bands that teenagers Alex Lifeson and John Rutsey attempted to form that year. The lineup included Lifeson on guitar , Rutsey on drums , and Jeff Jones on bass and vocals; Jones was quickly replaced, however, by bassist Geddy Lee, who also became the group’s lead singer.
4 de may. de 2024 · Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee were absolute monsters on their instruments, and John Rutsey was certainly no slouch behind the drumkit. While it would have been a crime for Rutsey not to leave the door open for Peart after their debut, he was still the one serving as the leader of the group.
14 de may. de 2024 · The first band formed by Alex and John [Rutsey] in the Spring of 1968 was called The Projection. By the end of the summer that band had broken up. In August, Jeff Jones came in as bass player and lead singer and a formal line-up of John, Alex and Jeff was formed.
