Joseph Glasco (January 19, 1925 – May 31, 1996) was an American abstract expressionist [1] painter, draftsman and sculptor. He is most known for his early figurative drawings and paintings and in later years for deconstructing the figure to develop his non-objective paintings building on abstraction of the 1950s.

During his nearly five decade career, Joseph Glasco (1925-1996) dedicated himself to making art. From the time he was a young boy in boarding school until his death, Glasco explored a wide variety materials and styles from surrealism and figuration to cubism, sculpture and pure abstraction.
American, 1925–1996. Joseph Glasco was born in Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma and grew up in Texas. In 1949, after his first one-person exhibition in New York, Glasco became the youngest artist represented at that time in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art.
