Risdon was the first-ever Australian player signed by Western United back in February 2019 and has gone on to become an icon in Melbourne’s west.
Josh Risdon became the first Australian to sign for Western United, joining from Western Sydney Wanderers just a year after making three starts at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Socceroo recorded seven assists in 23 games in the 2019/20 season and was equal second in the league behind the leader Dimi Petratos, who recorded only two more.
