Jennifer Jean Warnes (born March 3, 1947) is an American singer and songwriter. She has performed as a vocalist on a number of film soundtracks. She has won two Grammy Awards, in 1983 for the Joe Cocker duet "Up Where We Belong" and in 1987 for the Bill Medley duet "(I've Had) The Time of My Life".Warnes also collaborated closely with Leonard Cohen.
Another Time, Another Place also reunited Warnes with her co-producer and friend Roscoe Beck, the long-time bass player and musical director for Leonard Cohen. The pair first met touring with Cohen in the 1970s and together made Warnes’ landmark 1987 album Famous Blue Raincoat , as well as 1992’s acclaimed The Hunter.
In the nineties he operated Music Cellar studios in Colorado where Chuck Pyle’s “Keepin’ Time By The River” was recorded. Jerry Jeff Walker, Jennifer Warnes and several of Jackson Brown’s band joined the project. Rudy has since recorded his own songs and has two CD’s available, “Places” and “Undiscovered”.
He recorded it on his most ambitious album, Keepin’ Time by the River, released in 1998. Grammy Award winner Jennifer Warnes and bagpiper Richard Cook joined Chuck for this gorgeous rendition of Jane’s song.
