As holder of the World Amateur, Junior and Professional titles, I dearly wanted to add the World Seniors to my collection but failed in my Crucible Theatre final where Igor Figueiredo of Brazil beat me 5-2.

Doherty then won the next three frames to win 18–12, ending Hendry's winning run of twenty-nine consecutive matches. In 1998, Stephen Hendry lost to Jimmy White in the first round of the championship.

Hace 4 días · Following a meeting of WPBSA Players held yesterday (17 May 2024) it has been announced that Shaun Murphy has been elected as chairman of the WPBSA Players Board.. Former world champion Murphy, who joined the WPBSA Players Board in December 2023, will take over from Ken Doherty who has held the position since 2021.
