The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute® was established in 1969 to provide a home for actors seeking to train in Lee Strasberg’s work. Today the Institute celebrates over 50 years of actor training and is the only school that teaches Lee Strasberg’s work in its complete and authentic form.

His students represent the 50 years Lee Strasberg spent training actors—from the Group Theatre in 1931, through the Actors Studio and The Institute until 1981, and beyond through The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Lee’s work with actors began to transform the American Theatre and American film, populating both with a distinct level of authentic performance. As more and more actors began to delve into his systematic approach to actor training, his technique was given a name–The Method–and its practitioners labeled “Method Actors.”
The 12 Week Program is designed for both beginners wishing to explore The Lee Strasberg Method ™ Acting and professionals wishing to brush up on their technique. Classes are conducted Monday through Friday (mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
