Lois Andrews (born Lorraine Gourley; March 24, 1924 – April 5, 1968) was an American actress who played in films during the 1940s and early 1950s. She is perhaps best known for her first role in 1943 as the comic strip character Dixie Dugan in the Twentieth Century Fox film of the same name.

20 de nov. de 2021 · NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Lois Nelson Andrews, a New Orleans cultural icon who led countless processions as grand marshal of jazz funerals and second-line parades, has died. She was 69. Andrews, known across the city as the “Mother of Music,” died of lung cancer on Nov. 10.
Lois Andrews was a brunette leading lady of the 1940s and early 50s, best known for playing the comic book character Dixie Dugan in a 20th Century Fox production of 1943. She died of lung cancer aged 44 and was married to four men, including actor George Jessel.
