Margaret Mercer Elphinstone, Baroness Keith and Nairne, countess of Flahault by marriage, was the only daughter of George Elphinstone, 1st Viscount Keith, and his first wife Jane Mercer [1] [2] . She was born in Mayfair on 12 June 1788 [2] . She married Charles Joseph, comte de Flahault on 20 June 1817 at Edinburgh [1] [2].
