Max Kaminsky was an American jazz trumpeter and bandleader who played in the Dixieland idiom. He worked with many famous musicians and bands, such as Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Bud Freeman, and wrote an autobiography in 1963.

Max Kaminsky, a reliable Dixieland musician, was often featured with Eddie Condon’s gang during the 1940s and 1950s. He was an early player in Boston, and a veteran of Chicago’s 1920s, where he played with Condon, Frank Teschemacher and Bud Freeman. Kaminsky moved to New York in 1929.
