  5. 24 de abr. de 2024 · The 81-year-old piano giant McCoy Tyner has passed away at his home in Northern New Jersey. His work as the harmonic cornerstone of the John Coltrane Quartet of 1960-1965, and Tyner’s own subsequent recordings and bands, made him a hugely influential jazz piano stylist.

  6. Known for his powerful sound and percussive left-hand comping, Tyner possesses an instantly identifiable sound and remains one of the most one of the true innovators of his instrument. Our Song of the Day is “Passion Dance,” a Tyner composition from his 1967 album The Real McCoy .
