Mzilikazi Moselekatse, Khumalo (c. 1790 – 9 September 1868) was a Southern African king who founded the Ndebele Kingdom now called Matebeleland which is now part of Zimbabwe. His name means "the great river of blood". [2]

King Mzilikazi was a Southern African king who founded the Matabele kingdom in what is now Zimbabwe and Rhodesia. He was born in 1790, a son of a Zulu military leader, and became a fearless warrior and leader of his people. He conquered and enslaved many Tswana groups, and built three military strongholds. He died in 1868.
