GADE. Niels Wilhelm Gade (1817-1890) nació el 22 de febrero de 1817 en Copenhague en una familia de músicos. Hizo sus estudios de violín y de composición con Andreas Berggreen, muy interesado en el folclore danés, que al parecer inculcó en su alumno. Gade debutó como violinista en 1833 y al siguiente año entró en la Orquesta Real.
