The plot of Piranha 3DD revolves around a water park called Big Wet, owned by Chet (David Koechner), who is determined to make it the hottest destination in town. His stepdaughter, Maddy (Danielle Panabaker), returns from college to help with the management of the park, but soon discovers that a group of piranha have made their way into the park's pools, threatening the lives of the guests.
