The Porter-Gaud School is an independent coeducational college preparatory day school in Charleston, in the U.S. state of South Carolina. Porter-Gaud begins working with prospective families as early as September and October for admission for the following fall. The deadline for our Annual Decision Round is typically in early February, and this is the point at which applicants have the best chance for admission as many of our grades become fully-enrolled for the coming year.

In 1874 the school was renamed the Porter Military Academy and soon moved onto the grounds of a former Federal Arsenal. In 1964, the school moved to its present location, merged with the Gaud School and Watt School, and became Porter-Gaud School. The Civil War wreaked havoc on Charleston.
