In History we learn a lot of interesting topics, sometimes learning about gory topics that make it more fun. You might have the opportunity to visit Berlin in year 9. In Design and Technology this year I have made a passive amplifier, a keyring, and a cushion, also flapjacks, chicken nuggets, fruit salad and curry.
In Post 16 at Quarrydale Academy we have high expectations of our students and want all of our students to aspire to fulfil their potential, both academically and socially. Students are expected to develop and embrace a sense of responsibility for their own learning, developing a more independent study style and maintaining a strong work ethic to ensure the most positive outcomes.
Quarrydale Academy (formerly Quarrydale School) is a secondary school with academy status located in the ex- mining and textile community of Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England. In March 2017, Ofsted judged this to be a ‘good’ school on their 4-point scale.
High standards of teaching and learning are at the heart of our success. Lessons are planned that cater for the individual needs of all learners including students with additional needs and the most able. Within the classroom our students enjoy opportunities to work as a part of groups as well as developing their own independent learning skills.
