Roy Ottoway Wilkins (August 30, 1901 – September 8, 1981) was an American civil rights leader from the 1930s to the 1970s.

Roy Wilkins was a journalist, activist and NAACP executive director for 22 years, from 1955 to 1977. He led the civil rights organization in many historic marches and victories, such as Brown v. Board of Education, the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. He also cofounded the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights and supported the Black-owned Tri-State Bank in Memphis.
