Ryan Flynn is an Assistant Professor at the Boston Children's Hospital and the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University. He develops chemical tools to study the interface of RNA biology and glycobiology in the context of cell state transitions and cell-cell communication. He is also interested in the role of glycoRNAs, a novel class of glycans that are produced by the ER/Golgi-lumen biosynthetic machinery and specific mammalian small noncoding RNAs.

Ryan Flynn, M.D., Ph.D. Ryan Flynn’s laboratory is focused on the exploration and discovery of how biopolymers like RNA and glycans work together to control cellular processes in the context of human disease. Follow us on twitter.
18 de may. de 2021 · Going against glycobiology dogma. Ryan Flynn, the first author on the new paper and an RNA biologist at Harvard University and Boston Children’s Hospital, says he made the startling discovery of glycoRNAs while working in chemical biologist Carolyn Bertozzi’s lab at Stanford University.
Ryan Flynn is a principal investigator and assistant professor of stem cell and regenerative biology at Harvard Medical School. He studies the interface of RNA and glycans, the fourth fundamental biopolymer, in hematology, oncology, and stem cells. He has discovered a new class of biomolecule, glycoRNA, that regulates the folding and trafficking of proteins and lipids.
