18 de abr. de 2024 · Saint Bonaventure ; canonized April 14, 1482; feast day July 15) was a leading medieval theologian, minister general of the Franciscan order, and cardinal bishop of Albano. He wrote several works on the spiritual life and recodified the constitution of his order (1260). He was declared a doctor.
Hace 3 días · St. Bonaventure also wrote numerous mystical and ascetical treatises, most famously, “The Soul's Journey into God.” In 1273, he was appointed by Pope Gregory X as Cardinal and Bishop of Albano.

The birthplace of St. Bonaventure, a 13th-century intellectual giant now revered as a doctor of the Church and the “second founder” of the Franciscans, paid homage to its patron Friday night on the vigil of his feast day with music, prayers, and a candlelight procession.
