St James Academy. Website: www.stjamesacademy.org.uk. Principal: Mr Ian Moore. Ofsted Inspected: March 2022. Overall effectiveness: Requires Improvement. St James is situated in the centre of Dudley and is housed in the buildings of what was Dudley Grammar School for Boys, to which many modern blocks have been added.
Dudley Grammar School founded. Queen Elizabeth the First is on the throne and a number of schools are founded in this period. 1897. Move to St James’s Road. The original school block, including the historic hall on the first floor, is still in use. 1975.
St James Academy is a secondary school located in Dudley, West Midlands, England for pupils 11 to 16 years. It is also a specialist Arts College. The academy was formed in 2017 from Castle High School as part of the Dudley Academies Trust, in association with Dudley College. The new name was officially adopted in September 2018.
