It is no longer a school, having merged with Notre Dame Primary School in 2013. [1] The building has been converted into a block of flats and the old playgrounds are residents' car parks.

The most famous former pupil of St Peter's is the comedian Billy Connolly. Stewartville Street was converted into 46 flats in 1986 by architects Colin Robertson, Graham and Partners. Stewartville Public School, latterly St Peter's Boys School. Stewartville Street was built in the Renaissance style with rock-faced red sandstone.
