The Lightning Seeds (also known as Lightning Seeds) are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1989 by Ian Broudie (vocals, guitar, producer), formerly of the bands Big in Japan, Care, and Original Mirrors.

Released in June 2022, "Sunshine" was the lead single from the long-awaited Lightning Seeds album See You In The Stars, their first since Four Winds in 2009. Most of the album isn't nearly as sunny, lyrically at least. The title track is about the death of a close friend.
