24 de ene. de 2023 · Tha Triflin’ Album is like the drunken cousin of Ice Cube ’s Death Certificate, in both sound and feel. Both feature a lot of DJ Pooh production (though Pooh had been working with Tee since the beginning of his career). Although it’s not nearly as political as Cube’s, King Tee’s album also explores similar themes, serious and otherwise.

"Tha Triflin' Album" is one of the few rap albums that are truly bi-coastal. Unlike Ice Cube, who ventured east to seek the help of Long Island's Bomb Squad for his solo debut, Tee stayed at home, confiding production to longtime partner DJ Pooh and other West Coast personel.

His command of the mic, energy, and technique are all excellent. And in his unapologetically brash attitude, he occasionally says funny things (especially along with Ice Cube). Tha Triflin' Album is produced by King Tee himself along with long-time collaborators DJ Pooh and E-Swift with one beat from Marley Marl.
