The African Queen was great fun, and it was interesting to see Humphrey Bogart in such a different role. There is great chemistry between him and Katharine Hepburn, both playing slightly odd characters. I think the "character study" we see here influenced later movies, as it feels ahead of its time in this regard (and won Bogie his Oscar).
