This film uses the historical information that Custer was an active, and possibly politically dangerous Democrat, and then runs with it. There are some good performances here, including Nicholas Coster as a reluctant participant in the conspiracy to lay the blame for failed policies at Custer's feet and finish him off for good in both the court martial and the court of public opinion.
