The Oldest Living Graduate premiered at the Down Center Stage in November 1974. The three plays were first presented together as The Bradleyville Trilogy in 1975 at the Dallas Theater Center. The trilogy was most successful under the direction of Alan Schneider in its premiere as A Texas Trilogy at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater in Washington, D.C., during July and August 1976.

Aiming to get in his old man's good graces, Floyd arranges a city-wide celebration lauding Kincaid as the oldest living graduate of a nearby military academy. Instead, the festivities serve only to make the already sour and crusty patriarch even more truculent and miserable.
Resolute to the end, Colonel Kinkaid resents being the "oldest living anything" and, with his dying breath, continues to resist the loss of his ideals to expediency, and to a way of life which he can only regard as shoddy, second-rate and lacking in the values which he has striven to uphold. 72 pages, Paperback.
