22 de ago. de 2017 · Three-time Tony Award-winning book writer Thomas Meehan, best known for transforming the Little Orphan Annie cartoon strip into the smash Broadway musical Annie, has died at age 88.
Biografía de Thomas Meehan. Dramaturgo americano, Thomas Meehan es conocido por su trabajo en producciones tan conocidas como Annie, Los productores o Hairspray, con los que ha ganado tres premios Tony. Además, Meehan es un colaborador habitual de medios como The New Yorker y ha trabajado en el mundo del cine junto a Mel Brooks.
Thomas Meehan. Thomas Meehan (1929-2017) won the 2003 Tony Award co-writing the book for Hairspray as well as the 2001 Tony Award for co-writing the book for The Producers. He received his first Tony Award in 1977 for writing the book of Annie, his first Broadway show, and later wrote the book for the musicals I Remember Mama, Ain't Broadway Grand and Daddy Warbucks.
