Il film è un remake del film spagnolo Apri gli occhi, uscito nel 1997, con protagonista la stessa Penélope Cruz, che lì vi interpreta lo stesso personaggio.
A mysterious man (Noah Taylor) turns up wherever he goes and tells David that he has the power to control the world.
