Sarah Virginia Wade OBE (born 10 July 1945) is a British former professional tennis player. She won three Major tennis singles championships and four major doubles championships, and is the only British woman in history to have won titles at all four majors.

Virginia Wade is the first and last British female to win Wimbledon singles and the last to win since Andy Murray in 2013. She also won three other majors, 55 singles titles, and represented Britain in Fed Cup and Wightman Cup.
1 de jul. de 2019 · Virginia Wade is the only British woman to win the Wimbledon singles title in the Open Era, in 1977. She beat Betty Stove 4-6 6-3 6-1 in the Final, after a gruelling 9-7 6-3 win over Rosie Casals in the semi-finals. She also won the 1968 US Open and the 1972 Australian Open, and four major doubles titles. She is the last of her countrywomen to reach the Final and the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
