Feel free to read the book at any pace that works for you, but below is how I am planning to read and the dates I will post about each part if you’d like to read along.

  4. Hace 2 días · Wallace Stegner was an American Pulitzer-winning author whose parents homesteaded in Saskatchewan before throwing in the towel and moving back to the States. Wallace lived in this charming but humble home until he was twelve years old, and later wrote about it in his wonderful history/memoir, Wolf Willow.

While Crossing to Safety was Stegners final novel, Remembering Laughter was his first – a brief, beautifully written story of marital infidelity, intense bitterness and the refusal to forgive.

  6. Hace 3 días · Book #32 was Wallace Stegner's Crossing to Safety. I absolutely loved this story of a long friendship between two couples. I read some Wallace Stegner in college, and I thought that I had read this one, but I hadn't. I'm definitely going to read some more of his books. Posted by Ruth at 2:28 AM.

It’s the kind of wilderness that Wallace Stegner spoke of in his famous “Wilderness Letter” on the importance of federal protection of wild places. This letter was used to introduce the Wilderness Act, which established the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1964.
