  6. Washington Shirley, 2nd Earl Ferrers (16877-1729) was the son of Robert Shirley, 1st Earl Ferrers and Elizabeth Washington. He married Mary Levinge, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Richard Levinge, 1st Bt. and Mary Corbyn. He succeeded his father as 2nd Earl Ferrers on 25 December 1717. He died 14 April 1729, and he was succeeded by his brother Henry.
