Westminster Under School is a independent preparatory school for boys aged 7 to 13, attached to Westminster School in London. The school was founded in 1943 in the precincts of Westminster School in Little Dean's Yard, just behind Westminster Abbey. In 1951 the Under School relocated to its own premises in Eccleston Square.
Westminster School is one of the UK’s leading academic institutions and has a rich and distinguished history dating back almost half a millennium. In 1943, Westminster expanded its educational scope by forming the Under School, an independent preparatory school for boys aged 7 to 13.
Westminster Under School has an intake of up to 28 day children who enter Year 7 each year; please see below for detailed information on application for 11+ entry to the School and to find out when to register your child.
Westminster is an ancient boarding and day school with a unique sense of place. It is, in fact, the only long-established school to remain on its original site in the centre of London. Westminster’s origins can be traced to a charity school established by the Benedictine monks of Westminster Abbey.
