Wilhelm Filchner ( * Bayreuth, 13 de septiembre de 1877-Zúrich, 7 de mayo de 1957) fue un explorador alemán. Biografía. Con 21 años participó en su primera expedición, que lo condujo a Rusia. Dos años más tarde, viajó a caballo, completamente solo a través de las montañas del Pamir.
Wilhelm Filchner (13 September 1877 – 7 May 1957) was a German army officer, scientist and explorer. He conducted several surveys and scientific investigations in China, Tibet and surrounding regions, and led the Second German Antarctic Expedition, 1911–13.
Wilhelm Filchner was a scientist and explorer who led the German Antarctic expedition of 1911–12. In 1900 Filchner crossed the Pamirs, the mountainous region of central Asia now chiefly within Tajikistan, and he made an expedition to Tibet in 1903–05.
