In 1946 graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Choreography (class of Boris Shavrov, Alexei Pisarev). In 1946–61 was a ballet artist, in 1961—64 was a ballet master at the Kirov Theatre in Leningrad (now the Mariinsky Theatre).
