Sculpted by Ipswich Town fan Sean Hedges-Quinn, it was commissioned by the Ipswich Town Supporters' Association and funded by Ipswich Borough Council and electricity company TXU. Robson was manager of the club from 1969 until 1982, during which time he won the 1973 Texaco Cup Final, the 1978 FA Cup Final and the 1981 UEFA Cup Final .
