Although the exact number of lynchings remains largely unknown, historians estimate that roughly 5,000 Mexicans and Mexican Americans were killed during this period.

A mob seized him from the county jail, dragged him through the streets of the city’s largest Black neighborhood, and hanged him from a tree on the banks of College Creek.
