Lynx emergency medical technicians (EMTs) have the training and experience to transport behavioral health patients safely and with sensitivity.
EMS Providers. “EMS provider” means a holder of a certificate to practice at any level issued pursuant to section 4765.30 of the Ohio Revised Code, including emergency medical responder (EMR), emergency medical technician (EMT), advanced emergency medical technician (AEMT), and paramedic.
Valid Ohio driver’s license; Valid high school diploma or GED certificate; Current Ohio EMT Certification; Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider course completion card; Class Entry Examination (Pretest) score of at least 75% successful (see dates below)
Students in the EMT Certificate program must first complete the EMT course and then pass the State/National EMT Certification written and practical exams. By State law, a student must be certified as an Ohio EMT before enrolling in the Paramedic Certificate program.
The program, one of the largest and most respected, is accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS, to conduct Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), and paramedic training and education in the State of Ohio.
Course Description. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Program consists of of classroom and hands-on training regarding all aspects of the job duties of an emergency medical technician, including bleeding control, airway control maneuvers, basic anatomy and physiology of the human body and medical emergency intervention.
