Berdly works in the library, and his boss is named Ms. Boom. Gerson and Alvin are both members of the Boom family, so Berdly's boss related to Gerson and Alvin.

In the chapter 1 epilogue, one of the books in the library reveal that Gerson's full name is "Gerson Boom". In chapter 2, we get to meet his child near his grave, so it is possible that NPC is the Ms. Boom Berdly is working with. Edit: actually nvm, I just realized that NPC near Gerson's grave is Father Alvin.
