Gordon David Strachan OBE (/ ˈ s t r æ x ə n / born 9 February 1957) is a Scottish former football coach and player. He played for Dundee, Aberdeen, Manchester United, Leeds United and Coventry City, as well as the Scotland national team. He has since managed Coventry City, Southampton, Celtic, Middlesbrough and Scotland.

After retiring from football at the age of 40, he became the full-time manager of Coventry and led the team through a number of leagues to FA Cup Finals. He then became the full-time manager of the Scottish Premier League and has also been inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame.
