26 de abr. de 2024 · Harold Russell (1914-2002) was a trained paratrooper, and was training others in North Carolina, when an explosion damaged both of his hands so badly that amputation was necessary. For his role as Homer Parrish he received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, and a special Oscar for "bringing hope and courage" to fellow veterans.
