11 de nov. de 2019 · Speaking after Crystal Palace's game with Chelsea on Saturday, manager Roy Hodgson provided an update on right-back Joel Ward's injury. The Palace defender left the field in the 43rd minute to be replaced by Martin Kelly.
However, in a match against Shrewsbury Town on 7 February 2009, Ward suffered ankle injury after "falling awkwardly" and was substituted in the 16th minute, as the club won 1–0. After the match, he was out for eight weeks. By April, Ward was making progress on rehabilitation from his injury.
